Establishment of ASIMKOM: A New Union for Democracy and National Interests
The Azerbaijani Political Migrants’ Coordination Center (ASIMKOM) has been established. AND, DAS, AKM. France, Strasbourg, 2
Friends, we have begun the implementation of a major project for the Azerbaijani political emigration. There are Azerbaijani political migrants around the world, and we have decided to create a Coordination Center to coordinate their activities. The founding meeting of the Center took place on January 27!
During the founding meeting, the Charter and other documents were discussed and adopted. According to the Charter, the founders of the Coordination Center are organizations and activists who are not represented in migrant organizations. Each organization (on a proportional basis) is represented by a 7-person delegation at the founding meeting. Based on the quota defined in the Charter, the number of representatives not affiliated with any organization (on a majoritarian basis) is set at 20. As far as we know, such an initiative has never been undertaken in the recent history of political emigration!
However, we will do everything we can to ensure the successful continuation of this first initiative. The main goal is to support the fight for democracy and freedom in Azerbaijan, to be the spokesperson for the camp fighting for democracy in Europe. But this is not the only goal. Mobilizing the opportunities of emigration for Azerbaijan’s national interests is also one of our sacred aims. We consider dictatorship to be the greatest threat to Azerbaijan’s national interests, and we will do everything we can to eliminate it from our country! The friends we are united with are determined, and we are starting this process with high spirits!
